Burgess Cellars Promotes Winemaker Kelly Woods to GM
"Kelly's wisdom and span of control has steadily grown here, she has truly earned this official promotion."

From Burgess Cellars: Burgess Cellars has promoted winemaker Kelly Woods to Winemaker - General Manager. Woods has served as head winemaker of this 45-year old family owned estate since 2013. In her expanded role, she will oversee all department operations and strategically plan to fulfill the long term vision.
Woods joined Burgess Cellars in January 2013 as Winemaker. Her arrival ushered in a renaissance in winemaking, as the University of California Davis graduate brought innovations to harvest, fermentation and aging protocols. Immediately her debut vintage released to critical acclaim. With the addition of the General Manager position, Woods’ role expands beyond wine production and vineyard, to include a focus on hospitality, sales, marketing and administration. She will improve and streamline operations and communication, grow the brand and also maintain the status of Burgess Cellars as an influential and historic winery in Napa Valley.
“When I was hiring the position of winemaker back in 2012, I was trying to find a candidate that would grow into an upper management position once they learned the company,” said owner Steven Burgess. “Kelly’s wisdom and span of control has steadily grown here, she has truly earned this official promotion.”
