Calistoga Woman Identified In Fatal River Road Crash

NORTH BAY, CA — The Sonoma County Sheriff's Office has identified a woman who died last month in a vehicle collision west of Santa Rosa as Carol Ann Caywood, 73, of Calistoga. Caywood was driving a Honda CR-V west on River Road around 1:20 p.m. on June 26 when an eastbound Hyundai drove into the westbound lane, struck a Ford Ranger truck and Caywood's Honda.

Caywood was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Two other people in the three-vehicle collision suffered minor to moderate injuries, the CHP said.

Caywood was a music teacher who lived in Petaluma before moving back to Calistoga, according to her obituary. A memorial service is set for Saturday in Calistoga.
