NAPA, CA — The Culinary Institute of America at Copia announced Monday that two new electric-vehicle charging stations have been installed in its outdoor parking area. The Volta charging stations are the first of their kind to be installed in Napa County, according to a news release.

The EV-charging stations are free to use and are available on a first-come, first-served basis for members of the public to top off their charge while visiting The CIA at Copia, which is open daily at 500 1st St. in downtown Napa's Oxbow District.

"We are deeply rooted in this community and always looking for ways to make visiting our downtown Napa location as enjoyable as possible," said Tom Bensel, managing director of the CIA California.

The Volta charging stations are another amenity the CIA team has put in place to provide a sustainable convenience for visitors, according to the news release.

"Like the CIA, Volta is sustainability-oriented, and the charging stations will provide some peace of mind for those living in or traveling to Napa with electric vehicles in need of a quick charge," Bensel said.

San Francisco-based Volta seeks thoughtful locations when planning new charging stations, according to Volta President Chris Wendel. The goal is to place them where busy individuals will need them most and The CIA at Copia was chosen as the perfect bustling hub in Napa.

"As a local Napa resident committed to fighting climate change, I am particularly excited to partner with The CIA at Copia to bring Volta to Napa and do our part," Wendel said.
