Construction To Begin On St. Helena Sidewalk Project
The work, which may cause traffic delays, is expected to be completed by late October, according to the city.
ST. HELENA, CA – The City of St. Helena Public Works Department is set to begin the Hunt Avenue Sidewalk Gap Closure Project starting Monday, Sept. 16. Construction activities will take place between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., with the project expected to be complete by Oct. 25, according to a news release Tuesday from the city of St. Helena.
The purpose of the Hunt Avenue Sidewalk Gap Closure Project, according to Edrees Argand, junior assistant engineer with the city of St. Helena, is to:
- Construct 1,000 linear feet of sidewalk along the south side of Hunt Avenue from June Lane to Starr Avenue.
- Construct 140 linear feet of sidewalk along the north side of Hunt Avenue
- Upgrade the curb ramps on Hunt Avenue at Church Street, the curb ramps and pedestrian crossing on Hunt Avenue at Edwards Street, and the curb ramps on Hunt Avenue at June Lane.
"The work may cause traffic in these areas, please be aware of all construction signage," Argand said.

This project is being funded with local Measure T and state TDA3 funds, city officials said. The Measure T website has information about this and other projects countywide.
