Driver Dies In Crash Near Napa When Car Veers Off Road, Hits Tree: CHP

The California Highway Patrol was still investigating why the driver veered off the roadway.

NAPA, CA — One person died in a solo car crash Tuesday night in an unincorporated area west of Napa, the California Highway Patrol said.

The collision happened at 10 p.m. Tuesday on eastbound Henry Road, west of Dealy Lane, CHP Officer Jaret Paulson said in a news release.

For reasons still under investigation, the driver of a Honda Civic veered off the north roadway edge and collided with a large tree, Paulson said.

The driver, an American Canyon woman, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the CHP.

The woman's identity was pending notification of her next of kin by the Napa County Sheriff-Coroner's Office.
