Napa Waiters Race

The Annual Napa Waiters Race is a project of the Kiwanis Club of Napa (www.kiwanisclubofnapa.org), and began as a practicum project of Leadership Napa Valley Class 22 (http://wiki.lnv25.com/business/napa-waiters-race/).

The most popular experience in Napa--the Downtown Chef’s Market--will again this year host the annual Napa Waiters Race. The Race begins at 5pm on Thursday, August 2nd, when dozens of locals will line up with their trays and wine glasses to race each other for the title of “Champion Waiter of the Napa Valley.”

Spectator admission is free, and businesses can enter professional and aspiring waiters for $100 (teams may consist of 2-4 waiters). Proceeds from the Race will go directly to Meals on Wheels, a program of Community Action of Napa Valley.

Awards will be presented to the winning team and best costume.

This year’s course is located at Dwight Murray Plaza. Each team will be given a tray with two glasses, 3/4 full of liquid, which they must use to fill up a small bucket at the finish line. The goal is to be the first team to fill up their bucket. Waiters must support their tray with one hand and they are not allowed to run, nor are they allowed to touch anything on their tray.
