Sunday Afternoon Concert

For immediate release First Presbyterian Church of St Helena is pleased to present a concert on September 23, 2012 at 4:00 pm featuring new and unusual music. The concert features three accomplished local musicians: soprano Suzanne Clark, Kent Cohea on flute and saxophone and Tom Flesher on piano and the church’s splendid Rieger pipe organ.

The trio will perform the famous duet from “Lakme” by Delibes, plus rarely heard selections including “Il vento scrive” by contemporary composer Andrea Ferrante and the haunting “Aria” by Jacques Ibert. Each artist will also present solo selections representing a wide variety of styles and tempos.  Cohea will perform Debussy’s “Syrinx”,  Clark will sing the delightful Mozart aria “Voi avete un cor fedele” and Flesher will play “Afternoon of a Black Faun” by Dana Suesse. Plus a tribute to Judy Garland and much more.

A wine and cheese reception will follow the concert, and the suggested donation is $10.00 at the door. The church is located at 1428 Spring Street in Saint Helena.
