Favorite Napa Valley Businesses That Have Closed
A simple question on Patch's Facebook page drew an outpouring of memories and longing for businesses that are no longer here.
NAPA VALLEY, CA — Over the weekend, Napa Valley Patch asked on our Facebook page, "If you could bring back one local business that closed in town (it doesn't matter how long ago), which would it be?"
The question struck a nerve, with more than 75 people offering their responses. While we asked for "one" business, some people provided entire lists of places. Many are restaurants, but retail stores and entertainment venues were also included.
Patch reader Lori Bowe narrowed it down to just one: "I think it was called Cafe Society. Little shop with the best hot cocoa, coffee, bakery, snacks and even lunch later on, with wine, too. They had gift shop items and French bistro furniture for sale. She relocated the business (2004?) from Main Street in Napa to SF. I used to hang out there, where they offered conversation evenings and always great music."

Remember the Wheelhouse roller-skating rink? If you are a certain age and grew up in the Napa area, you probably miss it. Good news: we found a Facebook group for those with fond memories of the former skating rink.
