Food Network Host Supports Marathon and Charity Fundraiser

Sunny Anderson joined supporters of the Napa-to-Sonoma half marathon last weekend to raise awareness for CCFA and IBD

They came from St. Helena and Glen Ellen, and as far away as Florida and New York, to run in the Napa-to-Sonoma Wine Country Half Marathon this past weekend. Racers competed in 5K, Half Marathon and Masters Half Marathon events through a challenging course with beautiful scenery. One additional event at the race this weekend was the Team Challenge for Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of American (CCFA), a national charity partner of the Wine Country Half Marathon.

Food Network host Sunny Anderson was on hand for the pre-race dinner to support the event, the Team Challenge, and to help raise awareness for Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. Sunny has a personal interest in the inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD), as she personally was diagnosed at the young age of 18. Now in remission, Sunny draws on her own experiences while supporting fundraising efforts to fight these chronic digestive diseases.

Upcoming Team Challenge events and fundraisers for CCFA, similar to the Wine Country Half Marathon, take place throughout the year across the country, including Las Vegas and DisneyWorld, as well as internationally in London and Dublin. Events include the half marathon, marathon, Ironman, triathlon, and cycle.
