The Girls Swing Hard At Napa Softball Opening Celebration

NAPA VALLEY, CA — Napa’s Junior Girls Softball League celebrated its 59th season Saturday with a ceremonial color guard, local officials, and families gathering at the Freeway Drive fields, marking both decades of tradition and a growing community impact on young athletes.

The league, serving girls ages 3 to 13 and acting as a feeder program for the Napa Valley Girls Fastpitch Association, showcased not only athletic skill but also teamwork, sportsmanship, and local pride.

League president Debbie Anderson told the Napa Valley Register that next year’s double-anniversary celebration promises an even bigger turnout. Supervisors Joelle Gallagher and Napa City Councilmembers Beth Painter and Mary Luros joined the festivities, honoring decades of local support.

From the ceremonial colors presented by the Napa Police Department, U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, and league volunteers, to the girls taking the field swinging, the day highlighted the dedication of coaches, parents, sponsors, and the larger community.

Organizers said community support and involvement has kept the 59-year legacy thriving in Napa.
