Crews Contain Napa Co. Grass Fire To 5 Acres

BREAKING: The fire on Atlas Peak Road was reported just before 3 p.m. Monday.

NAPA COUNTY, CA -- Firefighters from multiple agencies contained a grass fire to just under five acres Monday afternoon northeast of the Silverado Resort and Spa in unincorporated Napa County, Cal Fire/Napa County Fire Department said. The fire with a moderate rate of speed was reported at 2:50 p.m. in the 2900 block of Atlas Peak Road.

Firefighters' "aggressive attack and quick response" limited the fire's spread, and no buildings or home were destroyed in the blaze, according to officials with the Cal Fire/Napa County Fire Department.

By late afternoon, Cal Fire Capt. Tiffany Mercado said most of the aircraft that responded to the fire had been released and firefighters were mopping up.
