How To Recycle Your Christmas Tree In Napa Valley
Christmas trees are recycled into mulch, compost or fuel for renewable energy each year at the Napa Recycling and Composting Facility.
NAPA VALLEY, CA — One of the worst parts about the end of the holiday season is often trying to figure out where to dispose of your Christmas tree.
In Napa Valley, residents can take advantage of the annual Scouts Christmas Tree Pick-Up and Recycling Day on Jan. 8.
Trees should be stripped of all decorations, stands, metal spikes, tinsel and lights before they can be accepted, according to Napa Recycling.

Local Boy Scouts will help pick up trees to deliver to the Napa Recycling and Composting Facility, where Christmas trees are recycled into mulch, compost or fuel for renewable energy each year.
Trees will be picked up for free, but a voluntary donation of $10 is suggested.

Donors should not leave money on the tree. Checks made out to "Boy Scouts of America" should be left in an envelope at the door for scouts to retrieve.
Residents who miss the tree pick-up may place their tree out for collection on their normal service day starting the following Monday. Trees placed outside on regular collection days must be cut in half if they are more than 8 feet tall. Wreaths, pumpkins and other holiday greenery may go in the compost cart, officials said.
