Incest Mom Sentenced in Napa

A 32-year-old Lake County woman has been sentenced to four years and eight months in state prison after she pleaded no contest to incest and other charges connected to her , according to a report in the .

Mistie Rebecca Atkinson was arrested in a Mendicono motel room with the boy in April after family members in Napa told police they believed she was having an incestuous relationship with the son after having been out of his life since he was 2, the newspaper reports.

She was tried in Napa because most of the sex offenses took place here, according to the Register, which also reports that Atkinson wrote a letter to the judge asking for leniency.
