Napa's Grand Sip: Pouring Rare Vintages For Wine Library Fundraiser

NAPA VALLEY, CA — A spring ritual returns to wine country this weekend as the Napa Valley Wine Library Association stages its 62nd Annual Grand Tasting, drawing vintners, collectors and enthusiasts to a single afternoon of rare pours and close-up conversations.

Dozens of Napa Valley wineries will serve current releases alongside hard-to-find library wines during the event, Sunday from 3:30 to 6 p.m. at Martini Park, 254 Saint Helena Highway South.

Attendees can sample more than 60 selections while meeting the winemakers behind them, a format organizers say keeps the region’s history alive through direct storytelling and shared tasting.

Caterer La Saison Napa will pair seasonal dishes with the wines, while a silent auction featuring 15 curated lots — including private tours and exclusive tastings — aims to raise funds for the Napa Valley Wine Library Collection housed at the St. Helena Public Library. The event also supports year-round wine education programs.

Organizers say the tasting doubles as both a fundraiser and a gathering point for a community invested in preserving Napa Valley’s winemaking legacy.
