JACK Wines Release Highly Anticipated Cabernet Sauvignon

One of the Highest Scoring Varietals from the Atlas Peak AVA.

Boutique wine brand JACK, announces the release of their highly anticipated 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon. A color mix of deep purple and black, this Cab offers an intense aroma of crème de cassis, chocolate-covered black cherries, licorice, chargrill, and tobacco with light wafts of star anise. It has been aged for 22 months in new French Oak Darnaju and Taransaud barrels and offers a boldly-fruited and full-bodied taste.

This year marks the first time the fruit used in making the 2016 Cab is all from the Atlas Peak AVA,” explains Brandon Davis, Managing Partner of JACK. “And we couldn’t be more pleased with the way it turned out.”

Super ripe tannins combined with a brilliant freshness and depth; it’s no wonder the 2016 Cab is rated 96+ by Wine Advocate, making it one of three wines brands to receive the highest score of any varietal from the Atlas Peak AVA.

The Atlas Peak AVA is an American Viticultural Area located within Napa Valley AVA just northeast of the city of Napa. The appellation sits on a higher elevation which limits the effects of the cool fog coming in from the Pacific Ocean. Around 11,400 acres of land comprise the AVA with 1500 acres of vineyards known primarily for Zinfandel. The Atlas Peak Appellation currently produces premium varietals used to create Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Malbec, and Merlot. Grapes grown in the region also include Syrah, Marsanne, Sangiovese, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon Blanc.

JACK was founded in 2012 by Chris Iannetta and Vernon Wells who discovered an appreciation for wine while playing in the Major Leagues. The name was created by using the first initial of each of their children. The wine is produced in Napa by winemaker Grant Long. Jr.
