Kayaker Hit By Boat, Fell Unconscious Into Napa River After July 4th Fireworks

Deputies are seeking leads to the boaters involved. A companion pulled the woman to the shore and safety.

NAPA COUNTY, CA -- The Napa County Sheriff's Office is looking for suspects involved in a hit-and-run boating collision that seriously injured a female kayaker on July 4 in the Napa River.

The motor vessel, with reportedly at least two on board, struck the kayak at a high rate of speed causing the paddler to be ejected and knocking her unconscious and facedown in the river, according to the department. Her companion pulled her to the shoreline, likely saving her life, deputies said.
