Man Dies After Assault Near Calistoga

SONOMA and NAPA COUNTIES, CA – An assault victim died of his injuries Thursday afternoon near Calistoga, according to Sonoma County Sheriff's deputies.

The incident was reported at 3:02 p.m. by a 911 call from the 16000 block of state Highway 128.

A 44-year-old man was found outside a residence at the scene of the crime. He died of his injuries despite medical aid, deputies said.

The victim's name is currently being withheld, and the homicide remains under investigation.
