Mudslide Closes State Highway 128 At Solano/Yolo County Line

NAPA AND YOLO COUNTIES, CA — State Highway 128 reopened around 4:15 p.m. Monday at the scene of a mudslide, authorities said.

The mudslide closed SR-128 in both directions between Markley Cove in Napa County and the Solano/Yolo county line, according to the California Highway Patrol and Napa County Sheriff's Office.

The mudslide at the Monticello Dam at Lake Berryessa was reported at 4 a.m. Monday. No one was injured by the slide, which consisted of mud and rock piled about 4 feet high on one shoulder of the road, sloping down to 1 foot on the other side, the CHP said.

Caltrans worked throughout the day to clear the storm debris from the roadway.

Also in Napa County, Silverado Trail North was closed Monday from Madrone Knoll Way to Meadowood because of storm impacts. Motorists can detour at Zinfindel to northbound state Highway 29, and Deer Park Road to southbound state Highway 29.

Around 11:45 a.m. Monday, there was a large boulder reportedly blocking the northbound lane of state Highway 121 just north of Atlas Peak Road.

"As storm impacts continue, residents are encouraged to drive with extreme caution and avoid unnecessary travel," Napa County Public Works said.
