NAPA CITY COUNCIL UNANIMOUSLY ENDORSES RYAN GREGORY FOR SUPERVISOR

Napa City Council unifies behind District 2 supervisor candidate, call for change on Board of Supervisors

All five members of the Napa City Council: Mayor Jill Techel (previously endorsed), Vice Mayor Mary Luros, Council Member Juliana Inman, Council Member Pete Mott and Council Member Scott Sedgley have unanimously endorsed Ryan Gregory for Napa County Supervisor.

The unprecedented move, which provides a groundswell of momentum for Gregory’s campaign in the wake of another recent high-profile political endorsement from U.S. Congressman Mike Thompson (D-St. Helena), provides the biggest boost yet to Gregory, a Napa native and small business owner who is making his first bid for public office.

“During the last Supervisorial election, I was faced with a difficult choice between supporting a sitting Council Member or supporting a sitting Supervisor to represent District 2. Today, the choice is clear. After a 20-year incumbency, it’s time for the residents of the 2nd District to have a new representative to listen to their needs and craft solutions to address important city and county issues that remain to be solved,” said Napa City Council Member Juliana Inman. “Ryan is that clear choice. He is an articulate, capable, and proven problem solver in our community; and he will make a great Supervisor. I have also worked with Ryan on many historical projects in Napa County,” Inman added.

“Ryan Gregory brings a breadth of experience and community involvement to the table,” stated longtime Napa City Council Member Pete Mott. “He will bring new ideas forward that our County needs to continue to innovate and adapt as our community grows and evolves,” Mott added.

Council Member Scott Sedgley, who is serving his first term on the City Council and previously served for 32 years as a local firefighter, echoed those sentiments. “It’s time for a fresh perspective and new ideas on the Napa County Board of Supervisors,” Sedgley said upon announcing his endorsement of Gregory’s campaign. “Ryan Gregory’s vision, leadership and community service experience will serve Napa County well by bringing new ideas forward to address our most pressing issues.”

Vice Mayor Mary Luros added, “I’ve known Ryan for many years, and his passion to serve, coupled with his vast knowledge on numerous issues related to housing, water, our economy, public schools and recreational opportunities, provides a well-rounded background that will lay a solid framework for him to be an effective public servant.”

Gregory was elated upon learning of the endorsements of the entire City Council. “I am honored and humbled to have the full support of the Napa City Council,” Gregory said. “I am committed to improving collaboration between the County and our Cities, including the City of Napa, on the Board of Supervisors,” Gregory added. “The ‘us versus them’ paradigm must end. We are one community, and it’s time to prioritize this working partnership moving forward.”

Ryan Gregory lives in the City of Napa, where he and his wife Laura are raising their two teenage daughters: Sage and Sophia. The 2nd Supervisorial District encompasses much of western Napa, including parts of Browns Valley and downtown Napa, as well as unincorporated areas west of Napa stretching to the Sonoma-Napa County line.
