Napa Felon Accused Of Having Illegal Gun: NSIB
The firearm, a 9mm semi-automatic handgun, did not have any serial numbers stamped on it, a lieutenant said.

NAPA, CA — A 37-year-old Napa man was arrested Thursday when a probation search turned up an illegal firearm, according to the Napa Special Investigations Bureau. Detectives went to the residence of Joseph Dimicelli in the 2200 block of Brown Street to conduct the search, and in a bedroom closet found a loaded 9mm semi-automatic handgun, NSIB Lt. Rick Greenberg said Friday in a news release.
"Dimicelli is a previously convicted felon and prohibited from possessing firearms and ammunition," Greenberg said.
According to NSIB, as the terms of Dimicelli's probation allow for search and seizure, he was arrested on suspicion of being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm and in possession of ammunition, as well as violation of probation — all felony charges.

"The firearm found in Dimicelli's room did not have any serial numbers stamped on it," Greenberg said. "These types of firearms are highly desirable in the criminal culture, due to the fact the gun cannot be traced by law enforcement."
