Napa Firefighter Hurt Battling Wednesday Apartment Fire

The blaze was on Brown Street.

A firefighter was injured while battling a blaze that burned three apartments in two buildings and displaced three people in Napa on Wednesday night, a fire division chief said.

The fire in the 1900 block of Brown Street was reported at 10:34 p.m. It started on the back deck area of a second floor apartment occupied by a couple who were watching TV at the time, Napa Division Chief and Fire Marshal Darren Drake said. Firefighters controlled the fire in an hour.

One firefighter was injured when a piece of metal got in his eye. He was treated at a hospital and released this morning, Drake said. The fire burned a vacant apartment and part of another apartment rented by a single woman who arrived home after the blaze had started, Drake said.
