Napa Firefighters Stop Atlas Peak Flames From Turning Into Roadside Blaze

NAPA VALLEY, CA — Napa firefighters knocked down a vehicle fire on Atlas Peak Road early this morning, turning what could have been a dangerous roadside blaze into a swift save.

Fire crews with CAL FIRE and the Napa County Fire Department arrived to find flames burning in a vehicle’s engine compartment, according to a brief on Facebook.

No injuries were reported, and firefighters extinguished the blaze, keeping flames from spreading into surrounding vegetation along Atlas Peak Road.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Officials said drivers should keep up with regular vehicle maintenance and address potential mechanical problems early to help prevent fires.
