Napa Fugitive Hid with 4 Scared Kids, Police Say

Napa police found fugitive Alberto Quesasa Quesada late Sunday night huddled under blankets with four "very frightened children" who had no idea who he was, according to an arrest summary from the City of Napa Police Department.

A wanted fugitive with a violent history was captured at about 10:30 p.m. Sunday hiding in a bedroom with a group of children to whom he was a stranger, according to an arrest summary from the City of Napa Police Department:

Officers were dispatched to a disturbance outside a residence on Sherwood Circle. Upon arrival they located a group of subjects outside of a residence at this location.

While contacting these individuals, dispatch advised an anonymous caller reporting Alberto Quezada (9/15/79 of Napa) was in a parked car on the opposite side of the street.

Alberto is a known parolee who has been armed and dangerous in the past, with a violent history.

The officers went and checked on the tip, but were unable to locate Quezada. Officers suspected a ruse, and went back to the original location on Sherwood Circle and everyone denied knowing Quezada and refused entry to the residence.

The primary residents of the residence arrived and gave permission for the officers to search the residence as they did not want a parolee in their home.

Quezada was located hiding in an upstairs bedroom under some blankets, along with 4 very frightened children.

Quezada fought with the officers and was eventually subdued. The children had no idea who Quezada was.

Quezada was arrested and booked into the Napa County Department of Corrections on suspicion of charges including breaking and entering, child endangerment and resisting arrest and for violations of parole and probation, police said.

At the time of his arrest, Quezada had recently been included by Napa Valley Crime Stoppers on its list of wanted fugitives for the second time this year. Find out more about the list at our Most Wanted topic page: napavalley.patch.com/topics/most-wanted.
