Napa Man Arrested, Accused of Assaulting Relative

A pair dropped off the victim at Queen of the Valley on Saturday night.

Police arrested a 45-year-old Napa man suspected of assaulting one of his relatives Saturday night.

Around 10 p.m., two unidentified males arrived at the Queen of the Valley Medical Center and dropped off a man suffering multiple lacerations and stab wounds to his head, face and upper torso, according to police.

The victim was conscious, but was uncooperative when asked about how he suffered his injuries, police said. Officers arrived and were eventually able to locate the vehicle that dropped off the victim at the hospital, according to police.

The vehicle was located in the 1500 block of Pueblo Avenue and officers determined the incident happened at a home there.

Officers obtained a search warrant for that home and seized evidence there, police said. Officers then determined Napa resident Jose Hernandez, 45, a relative of the victim, was involved in injuring him. At about 5:30 a.m. the following morning, officers obtained a search warrant for a home in the 2300 block of Stonehouse Drive and located Hernandez there, according to police.

Officer arrested Hernandez and booked him into county jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, assault causing great bodily injury, mayhem and violation of probation, police said.
