Napa Man Arrested For Alleged Motorcycle Theft In South Bay

He was booked into jail on a long list of potential charges.

MILPITAS, CA — Two men were arrested by Milpitas Police for allegedly stealing motorcycles. Robert Allen Kint, 50, of Napa was booked on suspicion of auto theft, evading a peace officer, grand theft, and reckless driving. Colton Lee Hartley, 21, of Morgan Hill was booked on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and a probation violation. Police later learned that the motorcycle he was riding had been reported stolen.

A Milpitas Police officer spotted the pair in the process of stealing a Yamaha motorcycle just before 5:30 a.m. on June 6 on West Capitol Avenue in Milpitas. The officer saw a man, later identified as Kint, drive away on the Yamaha motorcycle and another man leaving the area on a black MV Agusta motorcycle.

According to a release from police, "Responding officers saw both motorcycles traveling on South Abel Street in Milpitas. The man driving the MV Agusta motorcycle fled southbound on South Abel Street and eluded capture however officers were eventually able to take Robert Kint into custody without incident."

Officers contacted the registered owner of the Yamaha and learned it had been stolen.

On June 8, Milpitas Police detectives located Hartley driving the MV Agusta motorcycle in the City of San Jose. The detectives detained Hartley after he parked the motorcycle and got into another vehicle. Hartley was already on probation in Santa Clara County for crimes including narcotics violations, possession of a stolen vehicle, and violation of a court order.
