Napa Probationer Arrested With Gun, Drugs In American Canyon: PD
The 32-year-old Napa man was parked in an area of American Canyon that has had problems with late-night loitering and drug use, police said.
AMERICAN CANYON, CA — A convicted Napa felon was arrested Thursday in American Canyon when officers found him in violation of his probation, police said.
Around 1 a.m. Thursday, an officer saw a red Acura sedan parked near Cassayre Drive and Rio Del Mar — an area that has had problems with late-night loitering and drug use.
Tyler Rincon, 32, of Napa, was sitting in the driver’s seat of the Acura and told the officer he was in the area visiting a friend, American Canyon police Chief Rick Greenberg said.

Officers learned Rincon is on active Napa County probation, has a suspended driver's license and is only supposed to drive to and from work.
"Clearly, he was in violation of his probation," Greenberg said.

Officers got permission to search the Acura after Rincon told them he had "nothing to hide," the police chief said.
It is alleged that inside the car, officers found a tan Glock .9mm semi-automatic handgun loaded with a 10-round magazine.
Rincon is a convicted felon who can not lawfully own or have a firearm in his possession.
As he was placed under arrest on suspicion of gun violations, officers searched his clothes and found a clear plastic baggie with a usable amount of methamphetamine in his pants pocket, police said.
Rincon was booked into Napa County jail on suspicion of multiple felony firearm charges and misdemeanor drug possession charges.
Jail records late Friday showed Rincon was no longer in custody.
