New Principal Named For McPherson Elementary School In Napa
Troy Knox comes from Canyon Oaks Elementary School in American Canyon.

News from the Napa Unified School District:
Troy Knox, principal at Canyon Oaks Elementary School in American Canyon, has been named principal of McPherson Elementary School in Napa, starting July 1. He will take over from Deb Wallace, who announced her retirement earlier this spring. Knox’ appointment was approved at Thursday’s meeting of the NVUSD Board of Education.
“Mr. Knox is a seasoned elementary school principal, and we look forward to his contributions at McPherson,” said Superintendent Patrick Sweeney.

Knox has been an elementary school principal since 2002 and spent the last five years at Canyon Oaks. Before that, he was dean of students at Vintage High School in 2001-2002 and previously taught at Capell Valley Elementary School.
“It is an honor to be named the principal of McPherson Elementary School,” Knox said. “As a leader, I strive to put students at the center of the learning environment. I look forward to supporting and building on the school’s well-established culture as a high-performing neighborhood school..”

McPherson Elementary School serves 533 students in grades K-5. The District will follow its usual hiring procedures in filling the principal vacancy at Canyon Oaks created by Knox’ departure.
Born and raised in Sacramento, Knox has a bachelor’s degree in history from CSU Sacramento and a master’s degree in education administration from Chapman University.
He and his wife, Sarah, live in Sonoma with their children, Lindsay and Matteo.
