By NVOS artist Davina Rubin
Since childhood, drawing and painting have been the way in which NVOS Artist Christine Olivo has found to express herself. Living in the Napa Valley, she has been inspired to reinvent herself, and her painting style. Through the medium of oil paint Christine uses brush strokes to enhance form.
Nature inspires her work; the way in which colors and light play together and contrast in value, is the spark that draws her into painting what she sees.
Christine taught art for 40 years to junior high school students, and is now doing her own paintings. She has garnered many awards, from Wine Country Artists, the Napa Valley Museum, the Napa County Fair and the Calistoga Art Center.
Her studio is in a beautiful setting with art both inside and outside. And you'll find her at Studio #46, at 3023 St. Helena Hwy. North, just north of St. Helena, California.
Whether painting an object or a landscape, Christine looks at her subjects as if they had a story to tell. Painting these things on canvas helps to tell the story.
You can also find Christine's artwork online at www.olivoarts.com.
Artist, writer and actress Davina Rubin uses acrylics and mixed media to create abstract works on both canvas and paper. She paints in her small loft in Napa, and writes a philosophic blog atwww.davinarubin.com. You can also see some of her artwork at www.davinarubinart.weebly.com, and you can visit her at Studio # 42 during Napa Valley Open Studios.
