1. $1K Wine Country Lego Heist Thwarted, 3 Arrested (patch.com) — Napa residents may be surprised to learn that police arrested three people after an alleged attempt to steal more than $1,000 in Lego sets from the local Target. Officers and Napa County sheriff's deputies chased a suspect on foot and tracked down a fleeing vehicle before recovering the merchandise and returning it to the store.
   

2. Napa plans town halls, focus groups for Harvest Park Project (napavalleyregister.com) — Napa is launching a new round of public input on the Harvest Park Project, transforming the former Harvest Middle School site into a major recreation campus. Through town halls, focus groups, and pop-up events across Napa, residents can help shape design concepts slated for release in early 2027. Locals are encouraged to sign up online for ongoing project updates.
   

3. 'Small but mighty': Pope Valley Elementary begins a new chapter (napavalleyregister.com) — Pope Valley Elementary in northeastern Napa County has reopened its K-8 campus with just over 30 students and signs of a strong turnaround in safety, academics, and attendance. After years of turmoil, new leadership, multi-grade classrooms, and family-focused engagement are helping this small rural school rebuild trust and show big gains that matter for local families.
   

4. Serving the Napa community is everything to Puertas Abiertas (napavalleyregister.com) — A Napa native, Esmeralda Gil now leads Puertas Abiertas, the longtime Soscol Avenue nonprofit supporting Latino and other local families with jobs, food access, and legal referrals. As demand for services grows amid wine-industry layoffs and immigration fears, Gil is expanding programs in the group's new Napa hub and planning the Sept. 25 Puro Corazón gala in American Canyon to sustain its work.
   

5. 20-year-old motorcyclist dies after Highway 29 crash in American Canyon (pressdemocrat.com) — A 20-year-old Vallejo motorcyclist died after a Sunday crash on Highway 29, despite being rushed first to Queen of the Valley Hospital in Napa and then to UC Davis Medical Center. The collision with a pickup in American Canyon snarled traffic for hours, and police say early findings show speed and alcohol were not factors as the investigation continues.
