More vineyard owners seek to join Hoopes lawsuit against Napa County (yountvillesun.com) — Vineyard owners near Yountville are seeking to expand a federal lawsuit challenging Napa County's winery regulations and enforcement, potentially adding Thomson Vineyards and Okell Hill Vineyards as new plaintiffs. The case, led by Hoopes Vineyard and others, argues that county land-use and code-enforcement practices violate constitutional and state law protections, with a key court hearing set for November 20.
   

2. 'It'll just go to hell': Why this California winery's 50-year run could end in foreclosure (sfchronicle.com) — Napa's Signorello Estate, a 50-year-old family winery off Silverado Trail, is scheduled for a foreclosure auction outside the Napa County Courthouse on October 2, putting local jobs and a long-running wine business at risk. Owner Ray Signorello blames years of wildfire damage, costly rebuilding, permitting delays, and a tough wine market for the $37 million debt that could cost him the estate and its 2026 wines.
   

3. Napa man faces ALS with the support of family and friends (napavalleyregister.com) — A longtime Napa resident living with ALS is drawing strength from family, friends, and a local support network as he prepares to attend the Napa Valley Ride, Walk & Roll to Cure ALS at Napa Valley Expo on Sept. 26. Team Lionheart will walk beside him, raising money and awareness while highlighting how local caregivers, neighbors, and ALS organizations are helping the couple navigate daily challenges.
   

4. High School Football: Napa High tunes up for Big Game LV with 56-0 rout of Hercules (napavalleyregister.com) — Napa High's football team just crushed Hercules 56-0, setting up a high-energy Big Game showdown with cross-town rival Vintage next week in Napa. The Grizzlies' explosive offense, led by standout Eryck Gualberto and poised sophomore quarterback Jack Bottari, has fans hopeful for the program's first strong season in years after moving into a new league division.
   

5. American Canyon investing $5 million to transform Highway 29 into safer downtown corridor (pressdemocrat.com) — A major Highway 29 overhaul through American Canyon, backed by the Napa Valley Transportation Authority, aims to turn the busy stretch into a safer, more walkable corridor by 2029. With $5 million committed locally toward design and utility work, the project would add adaptive signals, bike paths, better crosswalks, and transit upgrades while keeping options open for future pedestrian and bike overpasses benefiting Napa County commuters and students.
