Pedestrian Hospitalized In Napa Crash

A 22-year-old woman was struck by an SUV on Foster Road, prompting an hours-long closure of the road Wednesday night, police said.

NAPA, CA — A pedestrian suffered major injuries Wednesday night when an SUV struck her in Napa, police said.

The driver of a Toyota 4Runner called 911 at 6:22 p.m. to report they struck a pedestrian on Foster Road south of Hilton Avenue, Napa police Sgt. Aaron Medina said in a news release.

Patrol officers, Napa Fire and American Medical Response responded to the scene to find a 22-year-old woman suffering major injuries, Medina said.

The pedestrian was taken to Queen of the Valley Medical Center.

The involved driver remained at the scene, provided aid, and cooperated with officers, police said.

Preliminary information indicated the driver of a 2001 green Toyota 4Runner was traveling south on Foster Road and the pedestrian was walking north of Foster Road when the collision happened.

Foster Road was closed for over four hours Wednesday night as the Napa Police Department Traffic Reconstruction Team responded and took over the investigation and processed the scene.

"At this time in the investigation, alcohol and drugs do not appear to be involved," Medina said.
