Police Activity At Main Street, Central Avenue Resolved: Napa PD

Police said a "less-lethal projectile device" was used in a situation involving an uncooperative man.

NAPA, CA — Police activity Tuesday afternoon in the area of Main Street and Central Avenue in Napa has been resolved and there is no threat to the public or the neighborhood, officials with the Napa Police Department said.

The police activity involved a man who was reportedly breaking glass bottles and throwing them at passing cars, Napa PD said in a statement posted to Facebook.

Officers were alerted to the situation at about 3:45 p.m. and when they responded to try and talk to him, he reportedly ran into a back shed in the 2400 block of Main Street at Central Avenue.

A "less-lethal projectile device" was used to encourage the man to cooperate and he was taken into custody without anyone getting hurt, police said.

There "were no gunshots" and no threat to the neighborhood, Napa PD said, thanking those who may have been caught in the middle of it for their patience.
