Photos Of Suspect In Double-Fatal, Triple Shooting On Hwy 116 Released

BREAKING: Anyone who recognizes the man is asked to call Sonoma County Sheriff's Office violent crimes investigators.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA – Surveillance photos were released today of a male suspect who officials say is linked to the marijuana-related triple shooting, which killed two, on Oct. 15 in the Sebastopol area.

Sonoma County Sheriff's deputies are turning to the public for help with identification of the man in the incident reported on the 5000 block of Highway 116 South.

Deputies responded around 8:15 p.m. that Saturday to the shooting where Nathan Proto, 36, of Sebastopol, died at the scene. A second victim, John Jessie Mariana, 28, of Guerneville, died at a hospital Tuesday from a gunshot wound, according to the sheriff's office.

The third shooting victim, a woman, as of earlier this week remained at a hospital.

The male subject, seen in the photos wearing a gray sweatshirt and jeans, was described as a medium-skinned black male, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall with a thin build, dreadlocks or braided hair and a full beard. He was wearing glasses with metal-wire, square rims and thick black bars at the temples.

The man reportedly drove a newer model, white Hyundai Sonata and was accompanied by a female, described as possibly Hispanic, approximately 5 feet 2 inches tall, "chunky" with a sub-dermal stud piercing on her right cheek. The woman, who possibly goes by the name “Bonnie,” was wearing a blue, red and white striped sweatshirt with leggings, deputies said.
