Skaters Roll for Napa Inline Marathon

Nearly 150 skaters from around the country took part in Sunday's 18th annual Napa Valley Inline Marathon and Half Marathon along the Silverado Trail.

Sponsored by the California Outdoor Rollerskating Association, the races offered a rare opportunity for roller-borne skaters to pursue their sport along a 26-mile outdoor route, instead of looping circles on a track.

Only five seconds separated the finish times of the top man and woman in the full marathon: Thomas Christie crossed the line at 1:18.33, Nastassia Hamor at 1:18.38.

Amadeus Fahron was the top male finisher in the half marathon with a time of 41:36; Florence Fahron led the women with 45:35.
