Spring Fire Halted In Napa County: Cal Fire

NAPA COUNTY, CA — Crews with Cal Fire and local Napa County agencies quickly put a stop to a vegetation fire that broke out Tuesday morning in unincorporated St. Helena.

The Spring Fire was one-fourth of an acre in size and was burning near the 3600 block of Spring Mountain Road, officials with Cal Fire's Sonoma-Lake-Napa Unit said at 11:15 a.m. Tuesday.

In a follow-up message at 11:45 a.m., Cal Fire said forward progress was stopped.

"Crews will be in the area putting out hotspots for the next couple of hours," Cal Fire said. "Use caution when traveling in the area."

The blaze broke out as high winds pummeled parts of the North Bay and Bay Area; a high wind warning for the region expired at 10 a.m. Tuesday but was followed by a high wind advisory for the North Bay mountains through 6 p.m. Tuesday.

The city of Calistoga reported downed trees and power lines early Tuesday in the 900 block of Foothill, and weather-related power outages were reported by PG&E in the North Bay and Bay Area.
