Teen Accused Of Stealing From Victims He Met On App: Napa Police
Police said at least two victims met the teen through the LetGo app. When officers approached him, he is accused of leading them on a chase.

NAPA, CA — A teen boy was booked into Juvenile Hall earlier this week after police say stole money and or smart phones from people he met on a cellphone app. According to the Napa Police Department, officers responded to two separate calls Monday where the victims met with a male to purchase a cellphone after communicating with him via LetGo.
In both meetings, the suspect stole cash and/or the phones from the victims, Napa police said. The victims told police the male then drove off in an SUV they described as a white Ford Escape with Florida license plates.
Officers quickly located the vehicle — which was determined to be stolen — near First Street and state Highway 29, where they attempted to pull it over, police said. When the suspect did not stop, police said a pursuit was initiated but then called off because of the recklessness of the suspect's driving.

Officers detained the suspicious person and soon determined it was the teen they sought in connection with the thefts and pursuit, police said.
The teenager was arrested and booked into Juvenile Hall on suspicion of possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of stolen property and evading officers.
Napa police said the Napa County Sheriff's Office and California Highway Patrol provided air and ground support in the incident.
