Vegetation Fire Burning In Napa
Napa Fire Department crews were expected to remain on scene of the grass fire near Napa Yacht Club for an extended period.
NAPA, CA — Firefighters remained at the scene Thursday evening of a vegetation fire that charred an estimated 10-15 acres of grasslands near the Los Carneros area of Napa. The fire was reported at about 2:45 p.m. at S. Jefferson Street and Atrium Parkway, east of state Highway 29 and south of state Highway 121/Imola Avenue.
As of 5:50 p.m., Napa Fire Department Capt. Steve Becker said the fire burning south of the Atrium complex in the grasslands south of Napa Yacht Club was controlled.
"Preliminary size is 10-15 acres but that could change as the perimeter is contained," Becker told Patch. "They anticipate being on scene for mop up for an extended period."

There were no evacuations, as firefighters kept the blaze from threatening any homes or other structures, according to Napa Fire Department officials.
"Sensitive populations or those with respiratory issues should stay indoors," fire officials said.
