Where To Eat Free On Veterans Day 2018

With gratitude for the service of vets & active-duty military, restaurants in California are offering freebie meals & deals Nov. 11-12.

CALIFORNIA –In a show of appreciation to all U.S. military personnel, past and present, restaurants throughout the Golden State are saluting veterans and active-duty with offers of free meals, deals and specials to mark Veterans Day 2018.

This year, Veterans Day falls on Sunday, Nov. 11, with the federal holiday designated Monday, Nov. 12. Click on the links listed below for details on the offers, and it's always a good idea to call and confirm your locale is participating with the freebies.

Applebee’s: Applebee’s annually offers veterans and active duty military a free meal on Nov. 11. It continues the tradition this year.

Bar Louie: Free meal for vets and active military from open to close Nov. 11 at Bar Louie locations in Northridge, Tustin and Downey. Offer includes a free burger or flatbread (up to $15 value). Military ID required. Plus, Nov. 5-12, guests can donate via an add-on to their checks to Operation Homefront.

BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse: Free entrees, up to $12.95, plus free Dr Pepper beverages, on Nov. 11 by presenting military ID or proof of service. Dine-in only. And throughout the month, current and retired military can reserve a free Pizookie® as part of BJ's "Buy a Hero a Pizookie." Guests who would like to honor these heroes can contribute $1 or more on their restaurant bills to the program. Cracker Barrel: Veterans and active duty military receive a free piece of Coca-Cola Cake on Nov. 11. California Cracker Barrels are in Sacramento and Victorville.

Dunkin': On Nov. 11, at participating Dunkin' restaurants nationwide, veterans and active duty military are eligible to receive a free donut of their choice with no purchase necessary. Read details here.

Farmer Boys: On Nov. 12, participating Farmer Boys locations will give a free Big Cheese burger to veterans with proof of ID and when mentioning the offer when ordering. Grub Burger Bar: Past and present military get a complimentary entree on Nov. 11. Grub provides an ongoing year round discount for veterans by offering a 10 percent percent off any purchase with a valid military I.D. or uniform. Details here. HomeTown Buffet: Military Monday happens to fall on observed Veterans Day (Nov. 12). Show proof of service and get special discounts for yourself and up to three family members.
