$6,000 Vanishes From Account; Vehicle Burglaries; Graffiti: Newark Police Log

If you have to leave valuables in your vehicle, stash them out of sight before you reach your destination. And always lock your vehicle.

NEWARK, CA — Newark Police officers were kept busy Tuesday, including three vehicle burglaries. Here's a look at the police log for Sept. 27, 2016:

0633 hours: Officer Homayoun investigated a vehicle burglary at Chase Suites, 39150 Cedar Boulevard. The loss was tools.

0832 hours: Officer Lopez documented a lost or stolen license plate from a 2006 Nissan on the 6500 block of Dairy Avenue.

0857 hours: Officer Slater documented the spray-paint vandalism on a wall at Ash Street Park.

1122 hours: Officer Horst investigated the theft of cash and credit cards from an unlocked vehicle at Civic Terrace and Central Avenue.

1144 hours: Officer Homayoun investigated multiple forgeries from a victim’s account for approximately $6000.00.

1146 hours: Officer Lopez investigated an embezzlement case from Journeys shoe store in NewPark Mall. Officer Lopez is following up with the suspect.

1431 hours. Officer Slater investigated a case of vandalism (graffiti) on a wall at 5600 Mowry School Road.

1445 hours: Officer Horst investigated a possible fraud case involving a paycheck returning without sufficient funds when the employee tried to cash it.

1923 Hours: Officer Geser investigated a complaint of pain traffic collision that occurred at the intersection of Cedar Boulevard and Newark Boulevard. Both drivers were treated at the scene.

2106 Hours: Officer Norvell investigated an auto-burglary that occurred in the BJ’s Restaurant parking lot, 5699 Mowry Avenue. The loss was a lap-top computer and other electronic devices.

2152 Hours: Officer Geser investigated a hit & run traffic collision that occurred at the intersection of Jarvis Avenue and Newark Boulevard. There is no suspect vehicle description.
