ALAMEDA COUNTY, CA — Firefighters from across Alameda County have deployed to help crews in Tehama County battle the Red Bank Fire that has now consumed more than 6,500 acres and is only 5 percent contained. Overnight, 16 Alameda County firefighters deployed as part of a strike team with Berkeley, Fremont, Hayward, Oakland and Livermore-Pleasanton firefighters. The Red Bank Fire started Thursday and was caused by lightning, according to Cal Fire.
