Nominations are due by 5 p.m. on Aug. 25.

Assemblymember Bob Wieckowski (D-Fremont) is seeking nominations for local heroes – volunteers and leaders making a positive difference in their community – who will be recognized at his State of the 25th Assembly District Address and Awards Ceremony. The nomination forms are available now and are due by 5 p.m. on Aug. 25. The Address and Awards Ceremony will take place from 6-8 p.m., Sept. 25 at SanDisk in Milpitas, located at 951 SanDisk Drive.

“There are many unsung heroes in any number of fields who contribute an enormous amount of time to improve their communities,” Wieckowski said. “This is my way of highlighting their work and thanking them for helping people in the 25th Assembly District. This is the fourth year I’ve held this ceremony and I am looking for nominees from Fremont, Newark, Milpitas, San Jose and Santa Clara.”

Constituents can nominate as many individuals as they wish. After the nominations are submitted, Wieckowski will review them and select the recipients. Past awardees were chosen from a variety of fields including business, government, non-profits, schools and universities.
