Auto Burglary, Vehicle Vandalism Reported In Newark Wednesday
No arrests were announced in any of the cases.

NEWARK, CA — Newark Police officers were busy investigating crimes involving vehicles on Wednesday. They included vandalism, auto burglary, embezzlement of a rental vehicle and false registration. Check the addresses — are they near where you live, work or shop?
6:17 a.m.: Officer San Pedro investigated a vehicle vandalism case on the 36600 block of Leon Street. The investigation is ongoing.
9:23 a.m.: Community Service Officer Verandes seized the license plates off a vehicle for false registration on Robertson Avenue at Guava Drive. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

3:36 p.m.: Sgt. Eriksen investigated an auto burglary at NewPark Mall. There was no loss. The victim had taken their valuables into the mall with them.

6:58 p.m.: Officer Damewood and Field Training Officer Smith investigated an embezzled rental vehicle from a resident on the 6100 block of Thornton Avenue. The victim had listed their vehicle for rent on a web app. The suspect, a 24-year-old Vallejo female rented the car and failed to return it.
