Update: Police ID This Tri-City Package Thief
Police suspect him and his accomplices in a string of thefts.

Fremont Police say they have identified a 33-year-old Union City resident as the suspect responsible for the thefts. They did not release the man’s identity to the public, pending the filing of charges by the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office.

Police are looking for suspects in several package thefts that occurred in Fremont in April and May. Police said they believe the same group of suspects has taken the packages off residents’ porches.

Fremont police officers responded at about 4 p.m. on April 27 to the 34200 block of Tupelo Street on a report of a package theft, according to police. Police said a video recorded by a resident showed the alleged burglar to be a Hispanic or Asian man, about 25 to 35 years old, with a medium build and dark goatee who was wearing a gray tank top, black and white basketball shorts, white shoes and a hat with a red and white logo.
The responding officer found several empty boxes from other addresses along Tupelo Street and Tan Oak Drive in the bushes, according to police.
The same day, officers responded to a report of a package theft that occurred April 25 in the 34000 block of Gannon Terrace, police said. The resident told police that a package was missing that had been dropped at his doorstep at about 8 a.m.
The resident described the suspect as an Asian man, 24 to 29 years old, weighing between 200 and 220 pounds. According to police, the suspect was wearing a blue jacket with white stripes on the sleeves, camouflage shorts, white socks, black Nike shoes and a dark colored baseball cap. Police said the suspect’s vehicle is a black two-door Honda and may be a Honda Civic.
Officers responded June 1 to a report of a petty package theft that occurred at about 7 p.m. on May 29 in the 37700 block of Freesia Court, police said.
Police said a video recorded by a resident showed a suspect driving a two-door dark blue or black Honda Civic coupe with a dent on the passenger side. Police are describing the suspect as a skinny Hispanic or Asian man in his 20s who is 5 feet 5 to 5 feet 7 inches tall with a shaved head. The man was wearing a black hoodie, white socks, dark Nike shoes and light-colored shorts. The video allegedly showed the suspect running to the porch and taking the package, police said.
