Construction Worker, 17, Who Died In Tractor Accident ID'd
The Newark resident was on a paving project in Palo Alto when the fatality occurred last week.

NEWARK, CA – A 17-year-old construction worker who died after being run over by a tractor last week in Palo Alto has been identified by the Santa Clara County medical examiner's office as Newark resident Alejandro Paulin Castaneda.
Police spokeswoman Janine De la Vega said an officer was flagged down at 8:47 a.m. on July 12 while patrolling near the 2400 block of Middlefield Road.
The fatality was reported at a construction site outside of a parking lot for Love N Care Preschool and Bridgeway Church, located at 2490 Middlefield Road.

Luke Brown, spokesman for the California Division of Occupational Safety and Health, said the fatality happened after Castaneda was run over by a Bobcat tractor while working for KC Paving.
Brown said it will take four to six months for investigators to determine if KC Paving will be issued any citations.

The company, based in Redwood City, has not been issued any previous citations by Cal/OSHA, according to the agency's website. The fatality is currently being investigated as an accident.
