Elderly, Half-Blind Man Gets Replacement Tricycle
The community rallied together to help the victim, whose previous tricycle was stolen. It's his only form of transportation.

NEWARK, CA — Someone stole a tricycle belonging to an elderly and half blind Newark man on Sunday, April 23. It was his only form of transportation. While police have not found the tricycle or made an arrest, the victim now has another set of wheels.
The community rallied together to make sure that the victim was not housebound for long. Police presented the tricycle to him on Saturday. It was donated by Jeannie Couthren and fixed up by Fred Cheng at Bicycle Garage in Fremont. Many more people offered to donate money, including the police department, which planned to pass the hat among themselves to buy a new one.
The Newark Police Department thanked everyone who volunteered to help. "This is just another reminder of how great our community is!" they wrote on Facebook.
