Newark Police Recover Stolen Mail, Arrest 2

An argument between the suspects led to the discovery of the mail.

NEWARK, CA — Newark Police recovered "a large amount of stolen mail" and arrested two people, both Newark residents.

Officer Blair Slavazza responded to a disturbance call at the Chevron Gas Station in the 5500 block of Thornton Avenue. She contacted a 30 year old Newark female and a 30 year old Newark male who had been arguing. Both suspects are on searchable probation.

A search of their vehicle resulted in the recovery of the stolen mail.

Both were arrested for possession of stolen mail and the male suspect was also charged with possession of a controlled substance.

Officer Slavazza has been with the police force for about a year.
