Sunday Afternoon Concert Series

Music of the 60's for LOV's final concert of the season.

The League of Volunteers and the Newark Arts Council are bringing The Dave Crimmin Band for an afternoon of rockabilly music. Crimmin - an original rockabilly artist from the Bay Area has written many songs during his music career for such stars at Bill Haley and the Comets and that pelvis-swinging guy with the sideburns from Memphis. Not familiar with rockabilly?  Think of the music of Carl Perkins,  Ricky Nelson, Elivs, the Beatles, Rolling Stones and Bob Dylan. Dave plays guitar, sings and composes music. Some  of his songs have been used in network television and major motion pictures with Sissy Spacek and Michael Douglas. Joining him on stage are John Alexander, bass and vocals and Martyn Jones, drums and vocals. For an afternoon of toe-tapping hot-rod era music - come to the May 20th concert and there will be space to get up and dance.
