Mama Duck Stands Guard Over Trapped Ducklings

NEWARK, CA — Just one day after Mother's Day, a mama duck in Newark had the scare of her young ducklings lives when they vanished through the grate of a storm drain.

Newark Police explain on their Facebook page, "Poor mama duck was waiting helplessly for someone to rescue her ducklings. Luckily for her, Animal Control Officer Dan Fejarang and Officer Brian Simon arrived and rescued five cute baby ducklings from a storm drain and re-united them with their mother at Baine Avenue and Birch Street."
