Newark Burglary Suspect Arrested
Police said Colton Ott broke into a residence in the 37000 block of Dahlia Drive Thursday but was interrupted by a victim who was inside.

An 18-year-old Fremont man was arrested on suspicion of burglary Thursday after police said he tried to burglarize a Newark residence. Police said Colton Ott broke into a residence in the 37000 block of Dahlia Drive Thursday but was interrupted by a victim who was inside.
Police responded to the residence at 10:22 a.m. after receiving a call from the victim, who reported seeing a man enter through a locked front door. Police said the suspect, later identified as Ott, saw the victim inside the residence and fled the area. Police said responding officers detained Ott nearby, and the victim was able to identify him as the burglary suspect.
Police said Ott had items that tied him to the burglary.
