Newark Home Destroyed After Fire Spreads to Attic

The fire's cause is under investigation, fire officials said.

A single-family home in Newark was destroyed in a one-alarm fire on Marguerite Drive this morning, according to fire officials. The fire, reported at 8:12 a.m., appears to have started on the exterior of the home and then spread to the entire attic of the single-story home, according to Battalion Chief Stephanie Radecke.

The fire was brought under control by around 8:30 a.m. and did not spread to neighboring properties. No injuries were reported. The fire’s cause is under investigation, Radecke said.
